An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specification Designer to join the Design Department team based in Swindon. The role requires a candidate with a high degree of manual dexterity, technical acumen, and an eye for detail as they will be responsible for advising, specifying, and carrying out detailed and accurate heat loss calculations for Grant Engineering customers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Calculate Heat loss for domestic and small commercial properties
* Designing Underfloor Heating (UFH) packages and producing detailed schematics
* Take ownership of heat loss and UFH requests making direct contact with the customer to obtain information on the specific requirements
* A technical sales approach should be taken when dealing with customers, looking to maximise every opportunity by discussing the options for associated Grant products
* Ensure that the UFH design information returned is correct and reflects the request from the Area Sales Manager/Customer.
* Communicate with the external sales team what’s included within the scope of work for underfloor projects.
* Ensure that any required amendments are carried out correctly
* Ensure that all results are reported correctly to Administration for quoting
* Ensure that any drawings/line drawings provided reflect the request and design
* Answer telephone and email enquiries directed to the Design Specification Department
* Deal with any on site visitors looking for more information on our products
Skills and Knowledge
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and as a team member
* Be able to produce results to a very exacting standard within specified time constraints
* Excellent communication skills
* Good command of numeracy and literacy
* Computer literate and Microsoft proficient
Desirable
* Experience with CAD
* Knowledge of Renewable Heating Projects e.g. Heat Pumps
* Design and components used in domestic heating designs
Thorough training will be offered to ensure a complete grasp of Grant Products and the various factors influencing performance.
