The main purpose of this role is to ensure technical accounting policies are in place, provide technical financial counsel to the business, to deliver the year-end consolidated statutory financial statements of Projects.
The role:
1. Deliver the year-end consolidated statutory financial statements of Projects
2. To provide clear explanations to auditors and management of adjusting entries if requested.
3. Oversee the year-end audit process including that for foreign entities, liaising with external auditors as required.
4. Perform purchase price allocation calculations on company/trade acquisitions and advise on acquisition accounting.
5. Provide technical financial counsel to Finance teams, individual company financial controllers and the Group Finance management team on accounting standards compliance.
6. Create, monitor and advise on internal accounting policies, including training and issuing of internal guidance on new accounting standard treatments.
7. Oversee all foreign company audits to ensure they progress as planned and local filing requirements are met.
8. Lead the year-end audit process including liaising with external auditors.
9. Perform year-end impairment assessments on the Group’s investment and goodwill values.
Key competencies:
10. A technically qualified, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, process-driven and commercially-focused finance professional.
11. Strong organisational skills with ability to plan, prioritise and work to deadlines.
12. Highly numerate and literate with strong analytic skills.
13. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and influence across an international business
14. Demonstrate a curiosity about the wider business, with a desire to challenge existing practices, identify opportunities for improvement and a determination to drive change
