Description Job Description Are you looking for an opportunity to work at the heart of a high profile policy delivery agenda on Additional Support for Learning (ASL)? You will join the Supporting Learners Team who support the implementation of the ASL Action Plan, the ongoing response to the Parliament's 2024 committee report on ASL, Programme for Government commitments, implementation of the Doran review, a shadow bill team on physical intervention and seclusion, and much more. The Team is high performing, consistently works at full capacity and works as flexibly as possible to respond to the increasing media and political interest in ASL. You will lead on autism and neurodivergence policy across the team with responsibility for the £10.5m annual grant-management of the 7 grant-aided special schools. You will also provide policy and secretariat support across the team. Responsibilities Lead on autism and neurodivergence in schools' policy. Lead on the Grant Management of the Grant Aided Special Schools (GASS) in line with the Grant Management Framework. Secretariat to the ASL Project Board, the ASL Network, Doran Review Project Board, the National Strategic Commissioning Group, and the Gypsy Traveller Education Steering Group, engaging with cross-policy colleagues as appropriate. Support the team with finance including making payments using Oracle. Lead on the coordination and preparation of timely and effective briefings for Ministerial visits, meetings, committee, and parliamentary appearances. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, Private Office, and Education Scotland’s Attainment Advisers. Support the team’s business by working closely with policy colleagues across SG, third sector organisations and other stakeholders as required. Build effective relationships with key stakeholders including internal cross government policy colleagues, COSLA, ADES, Education Scotland, ASPEP, the ASL Project Board, the ASL Network, and other key stakeholders.
