Salary: to £60,000 (negotiable, depending on experience)
Major international law firm is looking for a Resource Manager to assist one of their practice groups. The role will involve working closely with the partners in the team, and it is essential to have a proven track record of building strong relationships with partners, fee earners, and support staff. The primary role of the Resource Manager is to allocate work across the group, ensuring all client matters are staffed effectively, work is delivered, and the fee earners’ workload is balanced and fair.
Key Duties
* Building strong relationships within the practice group and optimizing the allocation of work.
* Proactively anticipating and recognizing resourcing needs and deploying staff accordingly.
* Monitoring resource needs for current work, identifying in advance times of increased/decreased busyness.
* Attending weekly management meetings to discuss workflow, ongoing needs, and utilization levels.
* Understanding the individual skillsets of all team members and identifying training and development needs.
* Monitoring chargeable hours and ensuring any under-utilized resources are flagged; providing feedback to partners on any issues.
To be considered for this role, it is essential to have managerial experience from another law firm, ideally with experience managing support staff (this could be as a secretarial manager, paralegal supervisor, HR manager, etc.). Excellent relationship-building and networking skills, as well as confident communication abilities, are required since you will regularly liaise with internal stakeholders and attend senior-level meetings. A good team player with excellent organizational skills and commercial awareness is essential.
This is an ideal opportunity for a paralegal/secretarial manager to take the next step and assume further responsibility and autonomy in a leading global law firm. Exceptional benefits are on offer.
