Reporting to the Transport Manager, youll be responsible for delivering a first-class service making sure goods are delivered safely, on time, and with a positive attitude that represents the Henderson brand. As a Driver, you will: Ensure all delivery and load documentation is correct prior to departing from the depot. Carry out daily vehicle safety checks, including water, oil, tyres, lights, and fuel levels. Maintain vehicle hygiene and cleanliness, both inside and out. Safely and efficiently deliver goods in first-class condition to the agreed store locations. Ensure all deliveries are checked off accurately and the appropriate delivery documentation is signed. Collect and record all product returns, following company procedures. Handle delivery equipment such as cages, pallets, and tail lifts with care and according to safety guidelines. Ensure cage control and accountability tracking and returning empty equipment as required. Report any delays, vehicle defects, or delivery issues promptly to the Transport Office. Comply with all driving laws and regulations, including tachograph and driver hours compliance. Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with store staff and other road users. Assist in loading/unloading where necessary, ensuring load security and safe handling. Follow route plans and schedules while adapting to traffic, weather, or unforeseen circumstances. Support the team in achieving on-time delivery performance and excellent customer service standards. The role involves a significant amount of manual handling, specifically pushing, pulling, and lifting heavy loads. Skills for Success Joining us as a Driver youll need: A current HGV Group C + E licence Possess a Driver Qualification Card Possess a Digital Tachograph Card At least 6 months relevant driving experience The attributes youll need include: Ability to work independently using initiative Reliability and punctuality. Attention to Detail Customer-Focused Attitude Team Player Willing to work closely with transport colleagues, warehouse staff, and the wider logistics team. We are inclusive and champion diversity. Hours and days of work: There full-time positions working a core contract of 38 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 - job to finish and overtime as required. Working on a 6th day every two weeks is also a requirement for this role. Shift pattern: There are multiple roles available working either: Starting between 4am-5am daily or starting between 1pm and 5pm daily. All roles are job to finish, and flexibility is required with regards to hours of work. Shortlisted candidates will have the opportunity to discuss the shift patterns at interview. Earnings potential: As a Driver with us, youll benefit from a competitive hourly rate with pay for every hour worked not just your basic hours. We also offer a performance-related bonus scheme, giving you the chance to boost your earnings through tasks such as cage returns, lorry refuelling, and other operational duties. We value your time and commitment, which is why we offer enhanced pay for overtime, premium rates for sixth-day working, and generous pay enhancements for bank holiday shifts. Once fully trained, you could be earning £36,000+ OTE gross per year, with real potential to earn even more through consistent performance and additional hours.
