Job summary We have recently created a new General Practice Assistant Team to support the practice in delivering excellent patient care by providing direct administrative support to our GPs. A developing team who are willing to deliver as much additional support to our GPs as, where and when they require it. You will work with an assigned group of GPs, supporting them with: Task management Liaison with other agencies Arranging, managing and minuting meetings Planning and diary management Quality improvement activities Patient care and patient appointments This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new role which will lead directly to an improved patient experience. Main duties of the job Your role will focus on supporting an assigned group of GPs to work as efficiently as possible, streamlining the way we do things in the practice. The administrative support you provide will support our GPs to spend less time on paperwork and organisation and more time with patients. To do this role successfully you will need to feel comfortable working in a busy and demanding environment, be computer literate (and adapt well to using new technology) and have excellent communication and administrative skills. You will have excellent negotiation skills and be confident managing your own workload. Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in a health or social care setting and a deep understanding of patient care needs. We are also interested in hearing from people from a wide range of backgrounds who can demonstrate sound administrative skills and experience of delivering high quality customer or patient care.
