Beyond emergency response, you'll spend significant time conducting home safety checks, visiting businesses to improve fire safety, and engaging with people of all ages and backgrounds. Your work will be instrumental in preventing incidents and protecting our communities through education and proactive safety messaging. You will receive comprehensive training and have multiple pathways for professional growth. To be eligible to apply, you must: be a current On-Call Firefighter (Competent) with Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service be a current driver (or willing to become a driver) hold a current positive PDR have no live capability or disciplinary processes where you are the subject of concern agree to remain on-call for at least three months (subject to replacement timelines).
