An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Health Technician to join our client located in Fife on a part-time permanent basis working 1 day per week. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with experience in health assessments, health surveillance, and fitness-for-work medicals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct health screening procedures in line with company protocols, including height, weight, blood pressure, and urinalysis.
2. Carry out Drug and Alcohol testing.
3. Perform fitness-for-work medicals.
4. Undertake health surveillance activities such as audiometry and lung function testing.
5. Deliver health promotion activities.
6. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure all data is recorded correctly.
7. Ensure all medical equipment is serviceable, clean, and fit for purpose.
8. Support the wider Occupational Health team to ensure smooth and effective department operations.
9. Actively contribute to a positive and professional working environment.
10. Engage in ongoing professional development initiatives provided by the company.
Essential:
1. Competent IT skills.
2. Excellent communication skills.
3. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of issues.
4. Good workload management and prioritisation skills.
5. Professional attitude with a focus on achieving performance objectives.
6. Valid UK Driving License and access to a vehicle.
Desirable:
1. Previous Occupational Health experience.
2. Background in HCA, Paramedic, Sport Science, or similar.
3. Training in health checks.
4. Experience with health surveillance (training can be provided).
5. Manual dexterity and proficiency with medical equipment such as spirometers.
