Survey Solutions is a leading engineering surveyor specialising in land, measured building and underground utility surveys as well as monitoring and site engineering schemes. We are looking to appoint a Survey Technician within the land department in our Glasgow office. We have a network of ten offices with our teams of surveyors and engineers working on some of the UK’s major construction and infrastructure developments. As a Land Surveyor Technician, you will complete small to medium scale land surveys to a high standard, and will be able to complete survey projects independently. The ideal candidate will have previous practical experience and technical knowledge of topographical surveying, including processing survey and CAD data. This is a full-time role with office hours of Monday to Friday from 9.00 – 5.30, however site hours will vary so overtime and occasional weekend working will be required. Responsibilities: As a Land Survey Technician, you will: Complete small to medium scale topographical surveys independently and to a high standard Work with and take instructions from the lead surveyor on large and complex surveying projects Process survey data and CAD data to a high working standard Demonstrate good competent knowledge of traversing and GPS control networks Accurately set up surveying instruments, recording data and providing logistical support to other team members Work effectively on projects with a trainee and junior surveyors and assist with their development by providing practical onsite experience Undertake initial site inspections and complete dynamic risk assessments when attending survey sites, and ensure all the required safety measures are in place prior to commencing the work Undertake training to learn measured building surveying, laser scanning, large complex topographical surveys and a basic knowledge of site engineering and setting out Requirements The Person: Previous experience working in the surveying industry (1-3 years). Previous experience completing small to medium scale topographical surveys independently Experience processing raw survey data and CAD data to a high working standard Experience and knowledge of traversing and GPS control networks Technical knowledge and previous practical experience of topographical surveying, including experience using surveying equipment and software Passionate about pursuing a long-term career with Survey Solutions and developing skills into other surveying disciplines Able to work successfully as part of a team and independently Hold a minimum of 5 GCSE's including Maths & English to Grade C level/ Grade 4 level Able to commute to our Glasgow office Full UK driving licence Right to work in the UK Benefits A wide range of employee benefits including; Welcome Bonus: Receive a generous welcome bonus upon joining our team.
