A DAY IN THE LIFE
As a member of our UKI Corporate Affairs & Engagement (CA&E) team, you will contribute to building and protecting the reputation of the L’Oréal Groupe and its [36] consumer brands. You will be responsible for proactively identifying and maximising opportunities to promote the Groupe in the UK and Ireland, delivering priority corporate PR.
You will lead the management of the press office, including media relations, liaising and working with our agencies on external opportunities; ensuring our spokespeople are prepared; and proactively managing opportunities from start to finish. You will support the Head of Corporate Communications with brand advisory work, providing counsel to colleagues across the business. You will also manage the team’s key LinkedIn channels. The role reports into the Director of Communications & Engagement.
Main responsibilities
* Drive forward and execute a proactive, earned media relations and external communications programme to support building L’Oréal UKI’s corporate reputation. This includes preparation for and promotion of corporate news, as well as speaking and profiling opportunities. This work must be done in an integrated way that considers our owned corporate channels and our paid media work.
* Formulate, own and manage an annual speaking event and media profiling programme, maximising local and global spokespeople and integrating paid opportunities, where appropriate.
* Lead on the UKI approach to Europe zone and global media events – ensuring appropriate attendance and delivery of required outputs.
* Establish and forge strong relationships across corporate and sector-relevant media. This includes proactively supporting the CA&E team’s media relationship management plans; identifying new/relevant journalists for the team; and ensuring on-going media engagement opportunities are in place throughout the year.
* Establish relationships and work collaboratively with divisional advocacy and influence colleagues in the UKI, as well as colleagues in our CA&E Europe zone and global teams.
* Identify opportunities to amplify brand activities for corporate brand building
* Become an active member of our UKI Editorial Board, ensuring CA&E are leveraging appropriate brand news for corporate news and channels.
* Ensure corporate spokespeople are supported/prepared for all external opportunities, with relevant message and Q&A. Attend media interviews and speaking opportunities, as appropriate, with UKI spokespeople.
* Draft proactive and reactive messaging for multiple audiences, as required.
* Manage the day-to-day running of the press office, leading on: responses to press enquiries; managing our out of hours rota; our subscriptions and licensing requirements.
* The CA&E Manager is also responsible for ensuring robust monitoring, tracking and timely and accurate reporting of all media coverage and issues. This includes responsibility for ensuring we have the right monitoring tools in place, as well as tracking and reporting against our team KPIs.
* Support paid media activations, working closely with the Head of CA&E and Director of CA&E. Lead the monitoring and management of community discussion once campaigns are live.
* Lead content planning and drafting for our Managing Director and UKI LinkedIn channels. As part of this, ensure the team has locally relevant content (photography and video) for our LinkedIn channels and, as appropriate, loreal.co.uk
* Lead the management of our loreal.co.uk website, ensuring timely updates.
* Support media training programme.
* Work with our external agency to manage media training requirements for key spokespeople.
* Help review brand marketing collateral, assessing potential reputational risk.
* Help ensure accurate tracking of the external budget.
