You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of employment legislation, have experience of handling a range of HR case work and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You will also possess excellent attention to detail, a commitment to delivering to the highest of standards and be able to communicate at all levels.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing effective and solution focused HR advice to all our stakeholders. This role is pivotal in supporting the provision of a high-quality People (HR) service that is focused on supporting staff across the organisation to achieve outcomes in line with our vision and values of the organisation.
Main duties of the job
As a People and HR Advisor you will be a key member of the Quality and People team and will support senior colleagues to provide a comprehensive and professional advice and support service across services within ECCH. You will provide advice and support to managers and staff on a range of workforce areas such as interpretation of policies and procedures, terms and conditions, absence management, employee relations (investigations, disciplinary, performance management, grievance, conflict, etc.) as well as advise on maternity, paternity and adoption and the management of change.
The post holder will be expected to exemplify the values and behaviours of ECCH and to support managers to embed them throughout the organisation.

Job responsibilities
1. To provide professional advice and support to staff and managers at all levels on the application of policies and procedures and current employment law relating to people management issues.
2. To support the team with employee relations activity providing advice and guidance as appropriate.
3. Support managers with the effective management of absence including providing HR support at meetings.
4. Support the team to ensure compliance with employment legislation and proactively be aware of the implications of existing and forthcoming legislation.
5. Assist the HR Team to ensure that change management complies with the Organisational Change Policy. Supporting managers with formal consultation, engagement, group meetings, 1 to 1 meetings etc.
6. To support the team to provide accurate and consistent advice on the interpretation of Agenda for Change terms and conditions.
7. Advise on and administer the process for Maternity/Adoption/Paternity leave.
8. Develop standard documentation where appropriate to ensure consistency of interpretation and application.
9. Carry out job evaluation/grading reviews as necessary within the remit of Agenda for Change and as a fully trained matcher/evaluator.
10. Support managers through the recruitment process including advising on best practice, equal opportunities legislation and sitting on interview panels as and when necessary.
11. Assist in the development and delivery of HR management training programmes as appropriate.
12. To support and supervise the People, HR, Absence & Occupational Health Admin Assistants to ensure they deliver a responsive, efficient, quality service to ECCH.
13. Support the development and implementation of specific HR policies and procedures.
14. Provide coaching and guidance to managers on people management best practices, including handling employee relations, absence management, and performance issues.
