Job overview

Main duties of the job
Undertake a team lead role in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating a specialist Therapies Service, including specialist outpatient and follow-up clinics as required.
As an autonomous practitioner, take a major role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the specialty who may have acute, complex and/or chronic presentations, and determine clinical diagnosis and therapy treatment indicated.
Seven-day working patterns apply. Involvement in the hospital-wide physiotherapy on-call emergency physiotherapy service is required for Physiotherapy Team Leads.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To be professional and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work, including the management of patients in your care. Ensure a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management, and support more junior staff to do likewise.
To interpret and analyze clinical and non-clinical facts from a wide range of sources to form accurate diagnosis and prognoses in a wide range of highly complex conditions, recommend the best course of intervention, and develop comprehensive discharge plans.
To undertake the comprehensive assessment of patients, including those with a complex presentation, using investigative and analytical skills, and to formulate individualized management and treatment plans.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Degree/Diploma in Professional Field
* Current Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
* Evidence of relevant post-graduate courses/CPD to Masters Level
Knowledge
* Awareness of the challenges of group dynamics in patient groups
Experience
* Relevant experience including a broad range of clinical experience
* Experience of Clinical Education of Students within area of expertise
* Sound understanding of clinical governance and risk
* Experience in health, acute hospital or social care setting
* Practical experience of use of Audit techniques and analysis
Skills
* Able to communicate with a wide range of professionals and the public
* High level of communication in both verbal and written forms
