We're looking for a Commercial Manager to join our construction business in our Manchester business.
Location: Salford, North West.
Hours: 40 hours per week
What will you be responsible for?
As Commercial Manager you will lead the commercial team within our Manchester business unit driving commercial performance of contracts through the effective management of quantity surveying staff resources, understanding of the contract conditions and effective risk management and mitigation strategy.
Your day to day may include, but not be limited to:
* Producing, collating and ratifying high level consolidated cost and expenditure reports across projects
* Overseeing the monthly valuation process for the region, ensuring information being provided by commercial teams is verified, ratified and collated.
* Setting and overseeing the financial contingency built into projects and ensure that contingency allowances reflect the current programme position.
* Reviewing potential contractor and supplier claims the adjudication of claims and make recommendations for settlement.
* Overseeing the finalisation of contractor's accounts and close out contracts for projects.
* Attributing commercial resource where required across the region, ensuring adequate commercial coverage for all tenders, PCSA and live projects.
* Managing Commercial Teams to ensure unified strategy and standards from the ground up.
* Acting as escalation point for Managing Quantity Surveyors where necessary.
* Identifying commercial resource needs for the projects and taking any necessary action to re- assign or hire to satisfy these needs whilst balancing staff costs against budgets.
What are we looking for?
This role of Commercial Manager is great for you if:
* You have a formal qualification RICS, Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
* You can demonstrate experience in a senior commercial capacity within a Tier 1 main contracting environment
* You can demonstrate managing teams of significant size.
* You have excellent overall contractual awareness with strong understanding of NEC, JCT conditions, arbitration and adjudication processes.
* You are expert in commercial reporting with the ability to produce board level reports for the region accurately outlining the business commercial position, risks and opportunities.
* Experience in developing and implimenting wider commercial strategies to drive work wining, business unit growth and profitability
