The Role: Warehouse Supervisor Assistant
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor Assistant or Warehouse Team Leader to join our dynamic team and help drive efficiency and safety in our WMS-controlled warehouse operations. In this vital role, you will assist the Warehouse Supervisor in ensuring that all operations are executed smoothly, cost-effectively, and safely. You will play a key part in managing operational targets, supporting the development of staff, and ensuring that processes align with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure strict compliance with health & safety and environmental legislation.
2. Assist in managing warehouse operations within defined time scales and operational KPIs.
3. Lead and motivate the operational team, conducting performance reviews and supporting back-to-work interviews.
4. Contribute to the development of continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse practices.
5. Ensure stock is stored in compliance with the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
6. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
7. Assist in managing equipment and liaise with maintenance engineers when repairs are needed.
8. Support in meeting operational budgets and costs.
The Ideal Candidate:
You will bring with you a strong background in warehouse operations, ideally with experience in WMS-controlled environments. As a proactive leader, you will have proven team leader skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff. You should also be highly organized, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator.
* Experience working in a WMS-controlled warehouse.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and lead teams.
* A good understanding of health & safety and environmental regulations.
* Excellent communication and IT skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel).
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Previous experience with the Manhattan/MLS WMS.
