SEN Supply Teachers

Academics is looking for SEN Supply Teachers who are willing to teach in the Birmingham area. You must have experience teaching children with special needs or be willing to. Many SEN schools are all-through schools, so if you are a qualified primary or secondary teacher, we would love to hear from you!
We need teachers who can teach the KS1, KS2, KS3 & KS4 curriculum! We will also help you find work to fit around your availability, whether that is day-to-day, long-term, or short-term supply work.
ECTs are welcome to apply.
What we are looking for:
1. Qualified Teacher Status – qualifications to degree standard or equivalent.
2. Successful teaching experience in SEN, primary, or secondary schools.
3. Outstanding classroom practitioner.
What the role involves:
1. Teaching according to the pupils' educational needs, including marking of work.
2. Providing a stimulating classroom environment that encourages pupils to become independent learners.
3. Assessing, recording, and reporting on the development, progress, and attainment achieved by those pupils.
4. Communicating and consulting with the parents of the pupils assigned to teach, in accordance with current guidelines and circulars.
5. Taking all reasonable steps to maintain good order and discipline among pupils and safeguarding their health and safety both when they are authorized to be on the school premises and when engaged in authorized school activities elsewhere.
How you will achieve this:
1. Training in all aspects of the National Curriculum and the literacy and numeracy strategies.
2. An enthusiasm for teaching and an ability to inspire.
3. Good ICT skills.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Ability to work closely with colleagues.
6. Experience of child protection procedures and commitment to safeguarding pupils.
7. Able to offer an extra-curricular activity.
