Purpose:
Directs and controls service operations for the entire organization to ensure customer satisfaction and maximize return on investment by optimizing service department processes. Grows service sales and manages staffing and budgets. Attracts, retains, and effectively engages department personnel.
* In conjunction with the Corporate Aftermarket Manager, develop, maintain, and manage the execution of the Service Department strategic business plan for the organization.
* Participate in creating and monitoring annual service department goals and budgets for the entire organization, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives.
* Develop, communicate, enforce, and monitor effective Service Department processes to ensure customer satisfaction as well as service department performance.
* Monitor individual and overall Service Department performance relative to labor sales and expense control across the organization in line with the organization’s objectives.
* Organize and execute regular meetings with individual locations and the Service group as a whole to communicate progress regarding goals and strategy, along with updates to business plans and initiatives.
* Monitor warranty activity and performance to ensure efficiency and appropriate reimbursement versus submission.
* Participate in developing, implementing, and reviewing the Service Department employee compensation plans.
* Facilitate the execution of the Service Department marketing plan including advertising, marketing, and promotional programs to grow labor sales for the organization.
* Review the organization’s customer satisfaction program to enhance and maintain customer relationships and training relative to service support.
* Participate in recruiting, staffing, and employee development activities for the Service Department.
* Assist the Fleet Manager with Service Department vehicle specifications and related procurement and maintenance.
Skills and Requirements:
* 3+ years of experience working in management of a Service Department; demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred.
* Experience with basic/intermediate computer functions; MS Office, Internet function.
* Experience leading and motivating individuals and a team while working cooperatively in a team environment.
* Experience communicating effectively.
* Experience analyzing and interpreting internal reports.
* Experience with off-road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment preferred.
* Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products.
* College degree/diploma or equivalent experience required.
* Valid driver’s license required with an acceptable driving record.
