Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Credit to join our dynamic team in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining cutting-edge software solutions for credit risk assessment and management.
* Design, develop, and implement complex software systems for credit risk modeling and analysis
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
* Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using best practices and design patterns
* Optimize existing software systems for improved performance and scalability
* Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
* Troubleshoot and debug issues in production environments
* Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in financial software development
* Mentor junior developers and contribute to the team's technical growth
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and security standards in all software solutions
Qualifications:
* Strong evidencible track record of software engineering ideally in financial services or credit-related software development
* In-depth knowledge of financial software development and banking processes
* Strong understanding of database systems and SQL
* Knowledge of Agile methodologies and software development best practices
* Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
* Ability to maintain multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently
It would be a real bonus if you have:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred
* Comprehensive understanding of credit processes, products, and regulations
* Avaloq Certification
* In-depth knowledge of the banking industry, including products and processes
* Expertise in credit risk assessment techniques and financial regulations
