About the job: The Draughtman is a key role within the growing Engineering Team. Using your knowledge and experience, you will demonstrate creativity, capability, and enthusiasm in developing, preparing, and modifying 3D models and manufacturing drawings for the complete product range. Once familiar with current products and company processes you will help to develop specifications, concepts and Engineering drawings / documentation for new products using SolidWorks Professional (3D solid modelling). You will report to the Technical Director. The main office & production facility is based in Westbury, Wiltshire, UK. Responsibilities also include: Drawing of new and existing mechanical products. Liaise with all internal departments to ensure collaboration and support are given throughout the design and development process. Liaise with external suppliers / partners to ensure standard methodology with material selection and processes / development. Continuous improvement of the design office facility including, processes, procedure, documentation, standards compliance / updates, CAD system and data storage. Contributing to design review meetings from an engineering / design for manufacture perspective. Assisting with any other reasonable projects / tasks as requested by your line manager, including support with all project processing and design office duties with regular updates to management. Adhere to the Company’s policy on Health, Safety and Environment. Operate to company general requirements in regard to Company policies, objectives and Companywide continuous improvement. About the ideal candidate: Education: Mechanical Designer / Draughts person qualified to HNC level as a minimum. Experience: proven experience in developing 3D models and technical drawings for manufacture and assembly. Highly motivated person, willing to grow within an emerging market. Technical Data Analysis.
