Working as part of a focused, partner-led team, this role will be active in running a broad range of corporate matters, focusing primarily on investment funds work and related regulatory matters, as well as developing and guiding junior fee earners and assisting with business development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure clear communication with partners, clients, and intermediaries.
2. Obtain clear instructions, provide legal advice, and prepare documents.
3. Review and provide comments on third-party documents.
4. Manage own matters and lead transaction-appropriate teams of lawyers and support staff to deliver the highest level of service.
5. Act as client contact point on any allocated matter.
6. Ensure administrative tasks are completed on conflict searches, issue of terms and conditions and engagement letters, due diligence, matter opening, time recording, billing, and lock-up management.
The successful candidate will have excellent academics and relevant qualifications, preferably gained in a common law jurisdiction, a desire to develop new skills, and the ability to interface confidently and effectively at all levels.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. At least 5 years PQE gained at a high level in corporate, including primarily financial services, funds, and regulatory.
2. Proven ability to grasp complex legal information to provide sound legal advice.
3. Ability to draft a variety of legal documents.
4. Willingness to develop existing skills and update legal knowledge through additional training.
5. Effective organization and communication skills.
