Financial Controller Role - Growing & Established SME - Permanent - Based in Hereford, Herefordshire
Hays Senior Finance are partnering with a PE-backed SME based in Herefordshire, supporting them with a progressive Financial Controller position. Reporting directly to the CFO, with influence across the business.
Role summary:
* Accountable for month end management accounts process and production of board packs and group reporting.
* Inventory and stock experience.
* Costings.
* The ability to manage a finance team & manage relationships with other areas of the business.
* Drive continuously improving standards of efficiency and accuracy.
* Preparation of timely & reliable monthly management accounts with an emphasis of providing meaningful analysis which assists managers in making decisions.
* Managing a small Finance Team.
* Budgeting and Forecasting.
* Business Support of financial analysis of new products and investment opportunities.
* Annual Accounts & taxation.
* Manage the annual audit.
* Day-to-day financial accounting and control.
* Cash flow forecasts & bank reconciliations.
* VAT returns.
* Payments to suppliers & employee expenses.
* Preparing board packs.
* Supporting our growth and reducing our costs.
* Evaluate and manage risk.
Personal Profile:
* Professional qualification (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA) - open to part-qualified or qualified by experience.
* Companies Act, VAT and HMRC knowledge.
* IT focused with advanced Excel skills.
* Excellent communication skills with a versatile, hands-on attitude with exceptional attention to detail.
* Highly numeric/strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
