RESPONSIBILITIES Please check attached JD Act as a source of expert advice for regional multidisciplinary teams advising and recommending therapeutic pathways and approaches for individual patient care. Maintain a high clinical profile, being highly visible, accessible and approachable to patients, clinicians, therapists and operational staff to ensure that open and honest communication channels are created and sustained. Maintain own therapist role and caseload and ideally maintain own group lead/facilitator role. Ensure the provision of specialised and consistent therapeutic interventions, including minimisation of risk of harm across the service, maintaining an overview of the standards of care being delivered and instigating remedial action if necessary and in accordance with current legislation, policy and procedure. Work with related senior regional clinical leads, clinicians and therapists in assessing the therapeutic skills required to deliver a safe and high-quality service, identifying gaps and supporting developing programmes to address these issues. Provide expert advice to clinicians and therapists, responding to queries and issues arising from the management of individual patients therapy and facilitate safe and appropriate, timely discharge. Provide support to employed and contracted therapists in managing their own caseloads, auditing quality of provision and escalating and acting on concerns where appropriate. Monitor significant events, complaints or issues within defined area, observing for trends and need for service or staff development, working with senior leads to inform strategy and service development and improvements. Act in an advisory capacity and resource to staff, guiding and supporting developmental projects and make recommendations on further resources as appropriate. Actively promote patient involvement in all aspects of care planning and delivery, while respecting the rights, cultural needs, capabilities and wishes of the individuals concerned. Ensure safeguarding and escalation processes and systems are in place and adhered to. Provide specialist training both internally and assist with induction and ongoing CPD for the therapist network nationally. Occasional delivery of speaking engagements or support to events in relation to PH therapy offer. Occasional delivery of national communications to raise awareness of the service including presentations at conferences, podcasts and on social media. Review therapy offers for effectiveness and outcomes and identify areas for development or change, ensuring our therapy offers reflect current NICE guidelines and are in line with evidence-based practice. Monitor and record clinical outcomes through evaluation, audit and review. Ensure evidence-based practice in all clinical therapeutic work and promote the evidence base in area of specialist expertise. Actively participate in the formulation and review of PH therapeutic provision and related policies and protocols. Work in partnership with other Senior therapists, Therapy Lead, and key providers, in the development of standards and audit of practice. Actively participate, and lead when required, in the recruitment and selection of clinical, therapeutic and non-clinical staff ensuring appropriate skill mix for the service. Work alongside the Therapy Lead; information team and PH managers/leads in service performance management including the collection/collation and submission of data to support activity and KPI reporting. Seek, evaluate and organise accurate information as a means of initiating and implementing change and ongoing improvements in service content, quality and delivery. Ensure comprehensive clinical notes and records are maintained in line with PH standards, safeguarding at all times the confidentiality of information relating to patients and staff. Make sound professional judgements whilst handling sensitive information within the framework of confidentiality. Assist in the resolution of any conflicts within the clinical area, resolving informal complaints locally and assisting in the investigation of and response to formal complaints as required. Assist where appropriate the Therapy Lead or PH manager with competency and disciplinary concerns with members of the team. Create, maintain and enhance effective communication and working relationships with professional networks and colleagues. Maintain professional registration and adhere to professional code of conduct and take responsibility for own CPD plan in line with professional guidance. Undertake continued clinical professional development with the support of an identified clinical supervisor. Utilise own networks to disseminate knowledge of the service.
