We are seeking a dedicated ASB Coordinator to lead the investigation and enforcement of anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases across the borough. You will play a vital role in enhancing community safety and well-being by working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional with a background in ASB management and enforcement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Investigation and Enforcement:
1. Investigate ASB cases and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
2. Take enforcement actions, including issuing warnings, legal notices, formal cautions, and fixed penalty notices.
3. Prepare reports and evidence for legal proceedings and represent the council in court as required.
2. Case Management and Support:
1. Provide guidance and collaborate with Housing Officers on mid- and low-level ASB cases.
2. Liaise with residents, businesses, and stakeholders to resolve ASB issues effectively.
3. Monitor and manage ASB cases using specialist IT systems, ensuring accurate records for performance analysis.
3. Community Engagement:
1. Work in partnership with external agencies, including the Police, community groups, and other stakeholders, to address ASB and enhance public safety.
2. Educate residents on ASB policies and promote preventive measures.
4. Strategic Development:
1. Contribute to the development of strategies, policies, and statutory plans related to ASB management.
2. Stay updated on legislative, technical, and professional developments in ASB legislation and policy.
5. Operational Duties:
1. Respond to ASB-related emergencies and provide support outside normal working hours when necessary.
2. Ensure compliance with legal procedures such as PACE, RIPA, and CPIA during evidence collection and case preparation.
About You
1. Experience and Knowledge:
1. Proven experience in ASB management or a related field (e.g., Environmental Health, Police).
2. Working knowledge of ASB legislation, health and safety regulations, and local government processes.
3. Experience investigating ASB cases and preparing them for enforcement or legal action.
2. Skills and Attributes:
1. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports and present evidence.
2. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
3. Competent in using IT systems and databases to manage casework and analyze performance.
4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
3. Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Educated to Advanced Level or equivalent experience in ASB or a related field.
2. Evidence of continuing professional development.
3. A full, current driving license.
4. Must hold or be able to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
