Element is a leading global provider of Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) services on a wide range of products, materials, processes and services and products for a diverse set of end markets, where failure in service is simply not an option.
The High Wycombe facility specializes in product and materials testing and is UKAS accredited to undertake mechanical testing of construction products (specialising in timber and fasteners), as well as testing for fire resistance, smoke leakage, structural integrity and performance, acoustic testing of building components, and pre-completion air leakage and sound insulation testing of buildings. Located just 35 miles west of London, we have been providing testing services to the construction industry for over 40 years.
Everyone at Element lives and breathes three core values. In our day-to-day work, we are guided by our values of Integrity, Care, and Progress.
As a Laboratory Testing Technician apprentice you’ll be working in a laboratory but not as you know it! Be prepared to get stuck in and use your hands as you’ll be working on numerous projects to test fasteners.
Working alongside some of our existing apprentices and fellow peers, you’ll have the support required to get to grips with the testing role quickly and will learn on the job as you go, and you’ll also have the opportunity to work independently and on your own initiative. Being an apprentice is hands-on, so you’ll get the chance to learn things you might otherwise not have experienced in a university or college environment.
As a member of the Element laboratory team, you’ll push construction materials to their limits ensuring that they’re safe and reliable to use. These materials will need to exist for many years to come without expensive maintenance, without damaging the structure and without endangering human life.
