The opportunity
The NHS Resolution Procurement & Contracts team is responsible for overseeing all third-party supplier engagements at NHSR.
We have a large contract portfolio and we are working to apply strategic commercial methods to rationalise and streamline this catalogue. As a relatively greenfield function we are seeking to build and standardise best commercial practices across the team and wider organisation.
The successful candidates will play a key role in driving this commercial change, and delivering good outcomes for our internal stakeholders and the wider NHS family.
You'll work with stakeholders across all levels of seniority from new requisitioners through to our Executive team and Board, while managing your own distinct portfolio of projects. You will be expected to manage your own portfolio of projects, and you will be free to use your judgement and experience to design and delivery each one.
What you’ll be doing
* You will be the Procurement Lead delivering a distinct Portfolio of projects. They will be yours to manage and deliver.
* You will be required to deliver every step of the procurement process for each project from inception (Make vs Buy) through to Contract Award including handover to the Contract Manager.
* You will liaise with stakeholders across the business, driving positive change through your excellent interpersonal skills and Procurement knowledge.
* You will be comfortable working at pace, and making decisions under pressure, while managing a busy portfolio.
What we’re looking for
* We are looking for candidates who are able to develop strong and collaborative working relationships to support business areas with procurement planning within projects and business plans. Ensuring any procurement is carried out in line with procurement legislation, NHS Resolution SFI’s, and Government Commercial Operating Standards.
* The successful candidate will Provide advice, guidance and support on commercial issues including contract governance and business development/growth opportunities (where applicable).
* Candidates will be able to communicate statutory procurement regulations to staff as required. Across all levels of seniority from Directors to Junior Team Members.
* Candidates will confidently carry out procurements for highly detailed, high value contracts that require analysis, comparison and assessment.
