About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity to work for us as a Cloud Architect as part of our Cloud Centre of Excellence Team. The role can be based in multiple locations across our European Home Credit business.
In the UK, the role will be based in our Head Office on Whitehall Road, Leeds which is a short walk from Leeds Train Station. The office has been designed as a collaborative space supporting hybrid working.
You will play a pivotal role in the design and delivery of AWS hosted cloud infrastructure components in line with the IPF Strategy and aligned to the strategic cloud design. You will be equally as comfortable building a POC of a new solution as ‘picking up the pen’ and sketching an idea on a whiteboard to an agile team.
You will work closely with the Project teams, to provide direction, prioritisation and technical insight in articulating and delivering architectural choices within various AWS services and solution methodologies.
Your day-to-day activities are likely to include the following:
* Work with the Cloud Centre of Excellence to formulate the cloud platform delivery and strategic roadmap.
* Design and delivery of technical solutions on Cloud Platforms, primarily AWS and Azure or GCP that address IPFs requirements for scalability, reliability, security and performance.
* Help set the technical direction of the cloud platform ensuring the technical / architectural integrity of the platform.
* Maintaining Automated Compliance Framework to ensure DevOps teams use AWS securely and efficiently.
* Design and develop effective automation procedures and support delivery teams in enhancing approaches to automation and continuous Integration and deployment.
* Design and automate Cloud Environments. Develop automated processes to deploy templates and account blueprints ensuring best practices and guardrails are maintained and deployed.
* Design, develop and support Cloud First solutions. Assist Delivery teams in supporting the solution design and recommend design improvements. Support the migration of services from monoliths to modern Cloud services.
* Work with Solutions Architects and Delivery Managers to deliver agreed goals and roadmaps, define best practice architecture and assist teams in adopting Cloud first approaches.
* Assists with and respond to relevant internal and external audits.
* Analyse risk related to cloud infrastructure components and provide mitigations for them.
* Deliver the appropriate technology solutions in a variety of cloud infrastructure technology areas.
* Provides expert advice and consultation on the cloud infrastructure implementation and support.
* Work with third party suppliers and products, as well as in-country IT teams to identify and deliver appropriate Cloud technologies and solutions.
* Participate on the relevant IT governance bodies.

* Experience: A proven track record of deploying and managing cloud-based solutions in a professional setting.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Adept at diagnosing complex issues and implementing effective solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
* Automation and Scripting: Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python and/or Terraform to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
* Security Awareness: Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance.
* Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and contribute to collaborative projects.
* Continuous Learning: A passion for staying updated with the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Certifications: Relevant industry certifications including but not limited to AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
