The Role:
My mainstream client based a short commute from Gloucester is actively seeking an innovative and experienced Social Science specialist to lead their successful and growing Social Science department from September 2025 on a full-time permanent basis. The successful Head of Social Science will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to inspire students and staff alike. The role will require full planning and marking responsibilities to deliver engaging Social Science lessons in one or more of the following specialisms across Key Stages 3 to 5: Health & Social Care, Sociology, Psychology or Business Studies. You will be crucial in guiding the direction of an expanding and crucial department.
The School:
Social Science subjects are an increasingly popular choice amongst students at GCSE level, with a growing staff roster in place to accommodate for this. The school places collaboration and developing long-term relationships between staff and students at the core of its ethos. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Social Science teachers to take their next step into departmental leadership and for experienced Heads of Departments to explore a new and vibrant environment. This position offers a base salary of £31,650 - £49,084 depending on experience, with a TLR 2C available for additional responsibilities.
