Job Title: Assistant Accounts Manager
Location: South Birmingham (Fully on-site)
Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Accounts Manager to join a highly specialised and growing practice in the South of Birmingham. This is a rare chance to work within a unique niche sector, specifically focused on international entertainment and media. As part of an expanding team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality accounts and tax services, and supporting the growth of both the firm and your professional career. Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of accounts, corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and ad-hoc reports.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing proactive advice.
3. Identify opportunities for additional services that clients may require, liaising with subject specialists as needed.
4. Respond to HMRC enquiries and resolve any related issues.
5. Review work prepared by junior team members, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality outputs.
6. Develop and mentor junior staff, helping them grow in their roles and supporting their professional development.
7. Make billing decisions for your client portfolio, ensuring that all charges are accurate and timely.
Qualifications & Skills:
8. ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent, or qualified by experience.
9. At least 3 years of experience managing a client portfolio.
10. Strong knowledge and experience in preparing statutory and non-statutory accounts, VAT returns, and corporation tax returns.
11. Experience in international corporate structures and taxes is desirable, but not essential.
12. Proven ability to develop and manage staff effectively.
13. Excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.
14. Ability to work efficiently as part of a team while demonstrating strong organisational and time management skills.
