About the role We are expanding our Field Based team and are currently looking for a Senior Engineer. This role will be home based but will require daily travel within your region and occasional travel to other parts of the UK. What you will do Be aware of HSE issues, report any on site issue to the Regional Manager and HSE Manager and implement necessary measures to improve HSE. Perform corrective maintenance works (including HV maintenance) for solar plants to ensure the successful ongoing operation of the plants. Take primary on-site responsibility for plant performance, work quality and site Maintain regular contact with the Senior Technical Operations Manager, Regional Managers, Asset Managers and O&M coordinator to coordinate site works effectively Liaise with internal and external parties such as in-house LV, HV and Ground maintenance teams, subcontractors and other third parties as required and directed. Professionally and diligently undertake all required training and development. Support technical team with the central inverters repairs and spare parts management. Support technical team with communication issues, fibreoptic and networking issues by supporting fault finding and suggesting upgrades. Carrying out site management duty if required. Supporting and verification of EICR testing across the business. Creating technical training plans, for inverters, comms etc. Assist the Senior Technical Operation Manager, Repowering Team and wider business, in processes building for the inverter repairs. Support Re- Powering Project Management and Senior Technical Operation Manager in creating technical service report for ongoing complex issues. Provide technical support to the field team, Senior Technical Operation Manager, Repowering Team and Asset Management team, heavily support them raising quotes for additional works and when necessary, carrying out site visits to gain a better understanding of what is needed to do this. Support the Asset Management team with procurement, in a Technical advisory role in order to procure the correct parts needed for the job. Consult with manufacturers and regulatory authorities, (such as DNOs) regarding technical topics in order to provide support to the Project Management team and the field team. Add to the current knowledge centre technical documentation and Technical Processes, for the Technical and Asset Management team to refer to when needed. Assist the Asset Management team with technical aspects of Warranty claims. Attending site when necessary to get a better understanding and reporting back to the client. Assist the Technical team with creating specialised technical reports, such as Thermography creating a technical analysis of the findings, reporting back to the Project Manager, providing a programme of works to rectify this. Support the onboarding new sites, prepare the technical documentation for new sites, create punch lists and quotations for rectification of the issues. Create the processes and documentation for BESS technologies as we onboarding them. What you bring Essential Minimum 3 years’ work experience working on ground mounted solar farms. C&G 2330 level 3 (with AM2) or equivalent. C&G BS7671 18th edition. C&G 2391 or equivalent Computer literate. Can work under own initiative. Team Player. Attention to detail. HV qualifications AP15 or OP40 or equivalent. Full UK Driving Licence. Eligibility to work in the UK. Desirable Qualifications or training in specific PV inverter technologies. Communications or networking qualifications. IOSH or NEBOSH certification. What’s in it for you?
