In this role, you will support Infrastructure GBU attorneys in drafting legal documentation, performing legal and other research, and supporting team organization and efficiency. Your expertise, collaboration, and high ethical standards will ensure business and compliance issues are addressed and team goals are met.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
* Review, negotiate and track secrecy agreements, restrictive covenants and other legal documents.
* Support in updating and organizing team legal resources, such as pro formas and know-how.
* Identify relevant jurisdictions where potential work is to be performed and cross-check and validate that appropriate licenses are in place and undertake due diligence on local laws.
* Support development of and compliance with internal protocols and procedures.
* Communicate with internal departments, outside counsel, customers, vendors, and various government agencies as appropriate.
* Support the legal team by handling requests for information or documentation from business unit personnel.
* Provide timely and accurate responses in support of the business unit.
* Prepare written reports as requested.
* Assist in performing due diligence on potential consultants, representatives and business associates.
* Organize notarisation and authentication of documents as required.
* Stay informed about changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
* Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations by monitoring legal developments and advising relevant stakeholders on compliance issues.
* Able to take the lead with respect to innovations to promote efficiency and effectiveness, including liaising with wider department colleagues to explore opportunities for team/department improvement.
* Complete special projects and other assignments as requested.
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Law degree or equivalent.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Collaborative, highly organized, strong prioritization skills, and proactive.
* Knowledge of Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, and other tools/systems to support process efficiency and improvement preferred.
* Communicates effectively in writing and orally; communicates fully and on-time with supervisors, managers, colleagues, and clients.
* High attention to detail and quality.
* Ability to handle confidential information and communications in a secure manner.
* Demonstrates by conduct an uncompromising commitment to Bechtel's high ethical standards.
