Further to the Main Duties, these are the key aspects of the job description: Maintaining practice safeguarding registers Review/manage safeguarding registers according to information received. Ensuring ongoing review of safeguarding registers to downgrade concerns & ensure registers & safeguarding flags are current. Summarising historic safeguarding concerns for new patient registrations. Ensuring safeguarding information is shared regarding patients deducted from practice list when they register elsewhere. Sharing relevant health information with other agencies when required as part of safeguarding processes Pulling together appropriate information to feed into: Child protection Case Conferences Safeguarding Adults processes LAC health reports TAC/TAF meetings Team around the Adult meetings Statutory Safeguarding Reviews (e.g. SCR, SAR, DVHR) Rapid Reviews Co-ordinating & supporting safeguarding meetings / MDTs Organising MDT meetings to facilitate information sharing between GP safeguarding leads, health visitors, school nurses & midwives. Preparing agendas for MDTs. Circulate minutes after MDTs. Update child & family records following MDTs. Supporting & monitoring training of practice staff Ensure safeguarding training of staff is maintained to levels required within the intercollegiate documents. Assist with provision of training for non-clinical staff. Assist with preparation of training for clinical staff. Supporting audit of safeguarding activities Process annual safeguarding assurance audit required by ICB. Undertake audits as required to assure practice / local safeguarding policies / processes are followed & to inform change as required. Embed local & national learning from safeguarding reviews Work with ICB safeguarding team to ensure that learning from statutory reviews is shared and implemented. Complete & return action plans as required by ICB safeguarding team to demonstrate progress with implementation. Maintain training / competence Attend ICB safeguarding leads briefings. Keep up to date with safeguarding relevant legislation. Maintain an up to date log of contacts / services within the safeguarding arena Curate a directory of service / contacts to be accessible within the practice.
