At Nationwide we put our customer at the centre of every decision we make as a business. Every role, no matter what it’s doing, is customer focused as they rely on our systems being up and running 24/7. We spend over £500m each year introducing new products and services, simplifying our IT infrastructure, complying with new legislation and regulations, and developing innovative new technology.
As a member led organisation, this means delivering change that meets our customers’ needs and delivering an excellent experience.
We’re also no strangers to innovation having been the first in the UK to launch an internet bank, joint first with Apple pay and implementing leading-edge Cisco technology in our branches. This, coupled, with our advancements in agile ways of working and a refreshed Change Delivery operating model, makes it a very exciting time to start working at Nationwide.
Our Chief Operating Office (COO) function, where the Change Development Programme sits, is more than IT – it's the engine that drives Nationwide’s transformation into a modern mutual. COO delivers:

* The IT capability for the Society – both customer and colleague facing.
* Almost half of Nationwide's operational costs, ensuring efficiency and quality across a wide range of customer and colleague services, including our facilities and buildings, payments, and production of customer letters.
* The data strategy for Nationwide.
* Our Tech Strategy – simplifying our IT application estate, and improving the digital experience for customers.
