Salary: £62,278 - £68,266 per annum (pay award pending) – plus weekend on call allowance, circa £638 per weekend (currently based on a 1 in 8 weekend rota)

The Head of Operations, Resources and Business Development is a new, exciting and challenging role which will complete the Senior Management Team at GSC in preparation for the next stage of our improvement and service development journey, to Keep The GSC Promise
You will have a lead role in promoting and upholding the vision and values of the GSC, working in partnership with young people, families, colleagues across the Centre and wider sector, and our Board of Directors (volunteer Trustees), to realise our ambitious plans for change and growth.
The Good Shepherd Centre (GSC) campus just outside Bishopton offers young people a safe, nurturing and welcoming environment set in fabulous grounds with a garden wildlife trail and outdoor sports facility. On-campus there are three secure care houses, a close support house & two cottages. Children and young people who live with us continue their education in our school, on campus, or attend further education out with the campus.

As Head of Operations, Resources and Business Development you will be a key member of the SMT and will have responsibility for ensuring the frameworks for effective workforce development and planning.
You will lead on ensuring effective guidance, support, professional supervision, training, skills development and performance evaluation systems are maintained for all and any staff in every role. You will drive workforce and resource planning and mapping and ensure that GSC operates in line with all relevant legislation and best practice guidance in relation to the safe staffing of our secure care and close support residential school care services.
The successful candidates will have rich and varied experience of supporting vulnerable young people, and of leading people and organisations through times of challenge and change. Candidates will require to be sutiably qualified in a relevant area, which means that they will hold or be willing to work to achieve a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Social Care and the Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Caring for Children and Young People at Level 4 or above, or equivalent qualifications recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
There is also a requirement to apply for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a registered supervisor within the first three months of employment and to be registered as a registered supervisor with the SSSC within six months of employment.
