You will be a core member of a small Clinical Multi-Disciplinary Team (CL-MDT) supporting the work of the Connected Families (CF) Coaching Team and wider specialist adolescent services. Located within Specialist Family Services, the focus is on providing timely, targeted and effective interventions to increase the number of young people on the horizon of care to remain (or return to live) safely in the care of their families.
The aim of the Cl-MDT is to complement existing multiagency resources and bridge the current gaps in provision for young people and their families. Working closely with an Advanced Social Work Practitioner, Systemic Therapist and Clinical Psychologist, alongside those who have established relationships with the young people and their families. Supporting the Coaching Team and wider network of professionals to assess, formulate, plan and deliver interventions to stabilise, reduce risk, support recovery and resilience building and enhance relationships.
Whilst the majority of your role is supporting young people, parents and professionals within Edge of Care and Re-unification, you may also be asked to provide OT consultation and assessment to the wider cohort of young people (aged 10 years plus) in Specialist Services e.g. Youth Justice or Contextual Safeguarding.
Main duties of the job
Working alongside colleagues as part of the Cl-MDT you will be responsible for the provision of Occupational Therapy assessment, consultation and interventions. You will support the young person alongside the parent and/or coach to explore and/or return to meaningful and valued activity through the provision of support to understand sensory need, sensory strategies, adaptive strategies, re-motivational process and occupational adaptation and environmental modifications.
The post is at band 7 and we welcome applications from those interested in either part time (minimum 6 sessions +) or full time.
