We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housing Access Officer (SO2) to join our dynamic team focused on helping individuals and families access stable housing solutions. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments of client needs, providing detailed information about housing options, and advocating on their behalf to ensure they receive the necessary support. This position requires a deep understanding of community resources, housing policies, and the social determinants influencing individuals' ability to secure housing. As a Housing Access Officer, you will work closely with clients, community organizations, and local government agencies to streamline access to services and facilitate effective communication. Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' housing needs and vulnerabilities.
Provide expert advice and guidance on housing options and resources available.
Advocate for clients with landlords, housing authorities, and service providers.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with community organizations and housing agencies.
Support clients through the application process for housing assistance and subsidies.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of clients in achieving their housing goals.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and services provided.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social work, urban planning, or a related field.
Minimum of two years of experience in housing assistance, social services, or community outreach.
Strong knowledge of housing policies and available community resources.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and demonstrate cultural competence.
Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £19.95
