Brunelcare is recruiting for a Trustee to help drive our vital mission of providing person centred care, housing and support for later life.
Founded in 1941, Brunelcare is a long-standing and successful charity and registered provider of care and social housing, providing a range of supported housing and social care across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Somerset. The charity’s work is more important now than ever, as we provide care and support for some of the most vulnerable people in our society. This is a crucial time for the organisation as we look to the future in delivering our new strategic plan which includes ambitious investment and re-development plans for our homes and care sites.
As a Trustee, you will share, with the other members of the Board, the responsibility for deciding how the organisation is run and what it wants to achieve.
Trustees are expected to attend Board meetings which take place every 12 weeks and to represent the organisation at other meetings, projects and events that may occur from time to time. Depending on the circumstances, some meetings may take place online.
Who are we looking for?
We are currently seeking a Trustee with skills and experience in property and asset management to support the Board to provide oversight and scrutiny in the following areas:
* Property, asset management and related strategies.
* Financial modelling/options appraisals for property development, disposals, acquisitions and new build.
* Accessing and utilisation of capital grants.
* Management of development projects.
We want our Board to fully represent the communities of which we are a part and bring a diversity of thought and experience. We are particularly keen to hear from people who are part of underrepresented backgrounds, including those with a disability, people of colour, and the LGBTQ+ community.
The successful applicant will have a skill set that is blended, balancing a strategic outlook with a passion for providing the best possible care and support for older people.
With Board and committee meetings, your time commitment will equate to around 8 hours per month including preparation time, training, site visits and other events. Trustees receive an honorarium of £3,500 per annum.
Our Trustees are a critical part of a team that is people-centred and forward-thinking. As a values-based charity, we need a strong Trustee Board to provide strategic leadership and robust governance, to deliver our vision. Does this sound like you? If so, we look forward to hearing from you.
