This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, creative, and passionate Advanced Pupil Support Worker to work in a brand new state-of-the-art secondary school. The successful candidate will support the school in creating an inclusive, ambitious, and positive culture with a future-oriented way of thinking to ensure the very best outcomes and experiences for young people and families within our community. The school also has shared sports facilities of the highest standard.
The role of Advanced Pupil Support Worker will focus on delivering high-quality support for learners with a varying range of additional support needs. The successful candidate will work as part of our Pupil Support team/faculty and will collaborate with all our staff, parents/carers, and learners. The successful candidate will support a young person and/or small groups of young people with additional support needs to help ensure that they are cared for, loved, and fully included to fulfill their potential.
In the first few years, we will be a school of modest numbers, so everyone in the team will work together and be ready to do whatever it takes to provide the best experiences for our young people. This post will be a challenging task, but for the right people, it will be a rare opportunity to be involved in something exciting and completely unique. The roll is anticipated to rise year on year to reach its 660 pupil initial capacity by 2027. A future expansion strategy has been considered beyond this, potentially increasing the school roll up to a maximum capacity of 1,210 pupils.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
