OCU Nettworx (Part of the wider OCU Group)are currently looking for a HGV Hiab Driver to join their teambased in Newbury.
The HGV Hiab Driver will beresponsible for operating heavy goods vehicles to transport goodsand materials safely and efficiently to designated destinations.This role involves adhering to traffic laws and regulationsmaintaining vehicle safety and ensuring timely delivery of goodswhile providing excellent customerservice.
Duties andResponsibilities:
VehicleOperation:
* Operate HGVs(e.g. lorries Cranes and trucks) to transport goods and materialsbetween locations following designated routes andschedules.
* Conduct pretripand posttrip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthinessand compliance with safetystandards.
* Safely load andunload goods using appropriate equipment and securing methodsensuring proper distribution of weight andbalance.
Compliance andSafety:
* Adhere to alltraffic laws regulations and driving guidelines including speedlimits hours of service regulations and tachographrequirements.
* Maintain aclean driving record and comply with company policies andprocedures related to vehicle operation andsafety.
* Report anyaccidents incidents or vehicle malfunctions promptly to managementand follow proper procedures for documentation andresolution.
CustomerService:
* Interact withcustomers suppliers and other stakeholders in a professional andcourteous manner always representing the companypositively.
* Ensureaccurate and timely delivery of goods verifying quantities andspecifications against delivery documents and obtaining signaturesas required.
* Communicateeffectively with dispatchers logistics coordinators and other teammembers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues ordelays.
VehicleMaintenance:
* Performroutine maintenance tasks on the vehicle such as checking fluidlevels inspecting tires and cleaning the interior andexterior.
* Report anymechanical issues or defects to the appropriate personnel andfollow instructions for repair or maintenanceprocedures.
Skills andExperience:
* Valid HGVClass C or Class CE driving license.
* DriverCertificate of Professional Competence (CPC)qualification.
* Previous experience as an HGVHiab driver.
* Good understanding of road safetyregulations vehicle maintenance and safe drivingpractices.
* Excellent navigational skills andthe ability to read and interpret maps GPS systems and deliveryinstructions.
* Strong communication andinterpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionallywith customers andcolleagues.
AdditionalRequirements:
* Physicalfitness and stamina to handle the demands of long hours of drivingand manual labour associated with loading and unloadinggoods.
* Flexibility to work irregular hoursincluding nights weekends and public holidays as required byoperational needs.
* Willingness to undergo drugand alcohol testing as per company policies and regulatoryrequirements.
* Commitment to maintaining highstandards of safety professionalism and customer service in allaspects of thejob.
