Job Summary
Prioritise patient safety, taking appropriate actions and encouraging colleagues to call out and report safety concerns. Promote a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff (in full compliance with all policies and procedures).
Main Duties of the Job
1. Promoting best practice and contributing towards quality improvements.
2. Acting as an SFA within scope of practice, across a caseload of orthopaedic, general, gynaecology and urology surgery.
3. Working as a Theatre Practitioner across various specialities when not acting as SFA.
4. Support governance activity, ensuring full compliance with Nuffield Health's Quality governance framework and national standards, e.g. CQC/HIW/HIS Regulation, fundamentals of care, professional standards and evidence-based guidelines.
5. Provide and lead care management and delivery, treating patients, families, friends and representatives with kindness, dignity, respect and compassion and support them to cope emotionally with their care, treatment or condition.
6. Collaborate with other clinicians within the Hospital, building strong working relationships that enhance patient care and service delivery.
7. Take charge of a theatre, co-ordinating and delivering work activities and leading junior practitioners.

Senior Theatre Practitioner Guildford Hospital | Nursing | Permanent | Full Time Up to £45,000.00 per annum depending on experience 37.5 hours per week. As a Senior Theatre Practitioner (ODP) at our Guildford Hospital, you're registered with the appropriate governing body and you hold the relevant qualifications and experience, including HCPC registration. You bring a passion for high standards in perioperative care, a meticulous eye for detail and post-registration experience. You're a focused, flexible and motivated team worker.
As a Senior Theatre Practitioner, you will:
1. Be responsible for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team.
2. Provide continuous competent and dedicated assistance under the direct supervision of the operating surgeon throughout the procedure.

As a Senior Theatre Practitioner, you will have:
1. Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
2. Surgical First Assistant Qualification.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Immediate Life Support provider.
5. Mentorship qualification.
