Shift: 8 hour shifts 3 pm - 11 pm
Starting Rate: $16.50 for Machine Operator 1 ($17.00 after 60 days)
Shift Differential: $1.50

Responsibilities
PURPOSE: As an Operator I/II, the ideal candidate will learn to do the job and learn company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks. Follow written procedures and verbal instructions to accomplish assignments of a routine and repetitive nature. Considered an apprentice or trainee. Moderate understanding of the general job aspects and superficial understanding of the technical parts of the job.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance. Performs duties in a safe manner and reports all observed safety hazards. Acts as a role model for Safety on shift. Participates in Safety by reporting Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Close Calls; makes entries into the Global Data Center (GDC).
* Maintains a neat and orderly work area; meets plant and department housekeeping standards.
* Assists Operators with extruder start-ups and threads up equipment with film.
* Changes the formula percentages on blenders according to the Traveler Report and verifies correct batches.
* Identifies and replaces dirty vacuum pump filters and screen packs as necessary.
* Assists in giving breaks to Packers on the lines.
* Participates in employee driven teams to address production related issues.
* If assigned to Roll Stock, must be capable of becoming forklift certified.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School diploma or GED.
Experience: 1-2 years mechanical experience or previous machine operator preferred.
Other desired qualifications: Good communication skills, willingness to ask questions, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Motivated and eager to learn.
