We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Property, Estates & Safety Manager to join our senior management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and safe upkeep of our facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, mechanical systems, and estate whilst overseeing the Health and Safety provision throughout.
The primary goal will be to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for our guests and employees whilst maintaining all aspects of the fabric of the building and award-winning garden whilst upholding safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement a thorough preventive maintenance program to ensure the ongoing functionality of all mechanical systems, equipment, facilities, and estate.
2. Be responsible for health and safety including acting as Departmental health and safety manager, delivering training for the entire department on health and safety information, ensuring compliance with health and safety, fire safety, waste management regulations, COSHH, and other relevant legislation and best practices. Run safety induction seminars for new staff, conduct risk assessments, and receive and investigate incident reports.
3. Keep people informed of facilities matters (e.g., urgent health and safety issues). Act as/assume the role of departmental safety representative in relation to standard Department Health & Safety matters, present information to different University groups, and induct all new staff in Health & Safety and general operational matters.
4. Responsible for the project management of major and minor building projects. Undertake site liaison with contractors and Estate Management, put in place the logistics of running these projects, instigate and produce briefs for smaller projects, deal with procurement, and manage implementation of the project(s).
