Short Role Summary
The UK Naval Operation IT Support person will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Naval Office. You will need to have a mindset for Security and ensure that all aspects of your work are within the operating model of the UK Ministry of Defence.
The main duties of the IT support role will be:
* Respond to support requests from the team and provide a fix or advice.
* Support the Cyber Infrastructure Lead in providing new or enhanced capabilities.
* Support the VMWare Environment.
* Support Cisco switches.
* Support Dell Servers.
* Backup and recovery - Monitor existing solutions and make improvements. Plan for 6-monthly restore tests.
* Responsible for upgrading firmware and software where required.
* Support a M365 E5 environment.

The successful person in this role will need to demonstrate the following:
* A solid technical understanding of supporting the Naval Infrastructure.
* A willingness to learn often complex technologies which support Naval.
* Be willing to work under own initiative and make decisions based on best practices.
* Become responsible for the Naval UK infra and work with major stakeholders to improve where required.
* Achieve CE+ for the Naval area and work with MOD / BAE to keep approved status.
Who You Are:
Demonstrated experience with Lean initiatives.
* ITIL management process knowledge, experience, and/or certification.
* Lean/Fast works/Agile Experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your Role:
* Work with the Cyber Infrastructure Team to provide secure and robust solutions based on business and security requirements.
* Take a lead in the support of the Naval Infrastructure in the UK, working closely with BAE and the MOD to provide the required security assurance.
* Support the Naval Operations business with break-fix.
* Where required, work with sourcing to provide any software into the area that is approved.
* Manage and mature the M365 E5 solution deployed in Naval.
* Monitor and provide enhancement opportunities to the Cyber Infrastructure Lead with clear returns and any costings involved.
* Be proactive and set clear objectives that are measurable (e.g., KPIs).
Basic Qualifications:
* Strong background in IT demonstrating a proven track record of delivering complex solutions.
* Either have or be able to obtain SC clearance.
* Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time and prioritize accordingly.
* Be willing to learn new technologies.
* Knowledge of VMware, Dell Server and Storage Technology, Checkpoint Firewalls, VPN, and other security appliances.
* Be willing to think outside of the box and provide solutions to problems that may arise.
* Proven track record of supporting environments that use M365 E5.
Desired Qualifications:
* Microsoft Certificates in M365 technologies.
