Our mission is:
Providing high-quality, compassionate care for our communities.
Our vision to 2030 is:
To be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service.
Job overview
This is an exceptional opportunity to share your talents and expertise to make a positive difference to the lives of people served by the Trust. We need diverse, inclusive and compassionate leaders who reflect the community they serve and have the leadership style and breadth of perspective to make good collective decisions.
Main duties of the job
The NED role is a full voting Board Member and you will be expected to take significant roles in Board meetings and Board committees, including chairing meetings as needed. A NED role could be suitable for an experienced NED or someone who has not been a NED in the NHS before.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will need to have a genuine commitment to patients and the promotion of excellent health care services. You will have practical senior level experience, ideally working in an Acute or Community Clinical Care setting and hold a Clinical Professional Registration such as RCN, NMC, HCPC, AHP or GMC.
As a future NHS leader, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they meet the NHS leadership competency framework for board members. The best boards are those that reflect the workforce and communities they serve. We particularly welcome applications from women, people from local black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, and people with disabilities, who we know are all under-represented in these important roles.
Applicants should live in or have strong connections with the area served by the Trust.
Our values
We want our staff to believe in, demonstrate and live our values in everything we do:
Include
We value the diversity and experience of our community colleagues and partners, creating relationships and climates that provide an opportunity to share, collaborate and grow together.
Respect
We create a safe environment where we are curious of the lived experience of others, seek out best practice and are open to listening and hearing new ideas.
Improve
We are committed to consistently delivering excellent services and continuously looking to improve through a creative workforce that feels empowered to act in service of our shared purpose.
Committed to our Community
East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion for all job applicants, staff, patients and the wider community. We want to create a workforce which represents the communities we serve. We are on a journey to become a more inclusive organisation and we welcome applications from everyone regardless of their background.
