Job Title: Senior Quality Manager Location: Across all hubs (Newton Aycliffe, Middlesbrough, The Skills Place - Gateshead) Reports to: Head of Quality and Development Salary: from £36,000 per annum Job Purpose: The Senior Quality Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment across the institution. The role will involve developing and implementing quality assurance and improvement strategies to enhance the learner experience and meet regulatory requirements. A key aspect of this role is to collaborate effectively across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Key responsibilities have been aligned to the handbook for the inspection of further education and skills. Quality Assurance · Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance policies and procedures in line with Ofsted, awarding bodies, and other regulatory requirements. · Oversee monthly completions working in collaboration with Senior Operations Managers and IQAs. · Alongside the Head of Quality and Development, ensure the successful outcome of internal and external quality assurance activities, including preparing for inspections and audits. · Support the Head of Quality and Development to develop the self-assessment report and quality improvement planning, ensuring continuous enhancement of provision. · Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to teaching, learning, and assessment, identifying areas for improvement. · Work closely with awarding bodies to ensure compliance with assessment and verification requirements. · Ensure effective OTLA processes are in place and company CPD is prioritised across the business to drive effective teaching and learning. · Coordinate learner and employer feedback mechanisms to drive improvements in delivery. Curriculum Development · Provide leadership and guidance to delivery teams to embed best practices in teaching, learning, and assessment. · Collaborate with delivery teams to create exceptional teaching and learning resources to inspire learners · Collaborate with delivery teams to identify learning objectives and curriculum requirements. · Support staff professional development through training and coaching in quality assurance practices. · Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organisation. · Support the intent process with other departments ensuring new initiatives meet local labour market demands. · Oversee the design, development, implementation and review of innovative teaching resources, materials, and activities that enhance the learner experience across our suite of qualifications. · Support SLT with cost analysis around future developments and qualifications. Management · Line manage a team of Internal Quality Assurers and Curriculum Writers to achieve team objectives and KPIS. · Ensure transparency of quality activity is communicated to wider teams, to support the wider business with performance management. · Arrange and participate in meetings, workshops, and professional development activities as required. Collaboration · Effectively work with the senior managers to ensure that achievements are hit, outcomes from quality activities are communicated and actioned across the teams. · Support the wider business in the use of systems across the business, and where applicable, standardise the effectiveness of systems. Person Specification Essential: Proven experience in quality assurance and improvement within a further education setting. Strong knowledge of Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and other relevant regulatory standards. Experience in developing and implementing quality assurance strategies. Excellent data analysis and reporting skills with the ability to interpret and use data for decision-making. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence positive change. A commitment to continuous improvement and learner success.
