A busy Secondary School is looking for a School Attendance Officer. The cover is Monday to Friday, term time only, 8 am - 4 pm. The role is a long-term position, and the school is looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
Your new role
The role will be to oversee the day-to-day attendance registers for pupils and to provide SIMS management, information, and reports. Responsibilities include:
1. Overseeing the day-to-day attendance registration for the whole school.
2. Investigating absences on a daily basis.
3. Issuing marks on a weekly basis to ensure absences are correctly coded.
4. Monitoring absence figures and liaising with SLT and DSLs as appropriate.
5. Supporting with home visits for absent pupils.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have a high level of communication and IT skills and be able to work quickly on your initiative. Additional requirements include:
1. Recent satisfactory references for a similar placement within the last 2 years.
2. An up-to-date DBS check (the school can't accept any applicants without this).
