Registered Manager – Residential Care
Location: Jesmond, Newcastle
Salary: £44,878 to £49,203 per annum

Are you an experienced Registered Manager with a passion for delivering high-quality care and empowering young adults with learning disabilities? Our client is seeking a dedicated leader to manage a residential service supporting individuals aged 17-30 in Jesmond, Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Service Management
* Obtain and maintain Registered Manager status with the CQC, ensuring full compliance with regulations.
* Oversee CQC inspections, local authority visits, and external stakeholder engagements.
* Ensure adherence to all statutory regulations, care frameworks, and best practices.
* Conduct service audits and implement action plans for continuous improvement.
Operational Leadership & Service Development
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring a high standard of care.
* Lead on pre-placement assessments, ensuring residents' needs are fully met.
* Oversee maintenance, health & safety, and equipment management within the home.
* Collaborate with senior management to support strategic service development.
People Leadership & Staff Development
* Provide inspirational leadership, fostering a positive workplace culture.
* Recruit, onboard, and develop staff, ensuring safer recruitment practices.
* Implement HR policies, including performance management, grievance, and disciplinary procedures.
* Offer coaching and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
Stakeholder & Family Engagement
* Build strong relationships with families, social care professionals, and local authorities.
* Work closely with day services and external partners to ensure continuity of care.
* Oversee and respond to complaints, incidents, and safeguarding concerns, ensuring timely reporting.
Financial & Resource Management
* Effectively manage budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and value for money.
24/7 Service Commitment
* Work within a 24/7 service model, including early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call duties as required.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Knowledge:
Strong communication, organisation, and IT skills.
In-depth knowledge of CQC standards and compliance.
Understanding of working with adults with learning disabilities.
Experience managing challenging behaviour and implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
Qualifications & Training:
Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker qualification.
Level 5 Leader in Adult Care (or willingness to work towards).
Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy qualification.
Care Certificate.
Experience:
Proven track record in managing and leading teams within a care setting.
Strong ability to delegate responsibilities, resolve conflicts, and motivate staff.
Personal Qualities:
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Confident communicator, engaging effectively with staff, families, and professionals.
Empathetic, enthusiastic, and dedicated to delivering high-quality care.
Flexible and committed to working early, late, and weekend shifts as needed.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor qualification.
British Sign Language (BSL) training.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and handling referrals.
