At Quest Global- UK, we are looking for Stress Engineers for one of our aerospace customers with experience in Gas Turbine.
Contract Type: 12 months contract / Permanent
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Location: 3 days onsite at Derby, UK
Note: After starting there will be 2 weeks of pause for IT setup.

Education Requirements:
Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace/aeronautical, manufacturing, preferred).
Capability Requirements:
1. The applicant must have gas turbine experience, be familiar with 2D and 3D stress analysis, in particular gas turbine rotating parts and/or structural components, using the latest in modelling techniques, such as friction at interfaces, elastic/plastic, for instance.
2. You must have experience with ANSYS Mechanical APDL or Workbench, a meshing application such as Hypermesh or UG NX, and a computer aided modelling program such as UG NX. Prior experience with component life analysis (fatigue, damage tolerance, and fracture mechanics) is preferred.
3. Engineer must be capable of performing the following stress analysis tasks:
4. Ownership of stress analysis of assigned components.
5. Collaborate with support functions as needed (stress analysis, life management, heat transfer, materials, design).
6. Ensure assigned components meet all technical and functional requirements.
7. Interface with global engineering organizations and other internal organizations (e.g. design) as required to support activity on assigned components.
8. Generate and deliver technical/program presentations to internal and external customers as required (systems tech review, design review and internal analysis review).
9. Write Design Study Summaries (Design Definition Record), Technical Memorandums, Coordination Memos, and Certification Reports as required to document design engineering activity on assigned components.
Computer Requirements:
1. PC-based Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), ANSYS Classic, Hypermesh, UG NX, PLM Teamcenter, Salesforce, and other specified applications to complete mechanical design activities.
2. Familiarisation and training shall be provided on proprietary software applications.
