Design Manager (Machinery Manufacturing)

Are you an experienced Design Manager looking for a new challenge, or a Senior Design Engineer eager to step up into a leadership role? We have an exciting opportunity for a driven leader to head a small team of Design Engineers in a growing and innovative machinery manufacturing company.
As the Design Manager, you will have the autonomy to shape and expand the Design Department, driving innovation and aligning it with the company’s strategic goals. This is a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of machinery projects, serving clients from small producers to large manufacturing groups.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a small team of Design Engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
2. Own the entire design process, from initial concept through to final delivery.
3. Allocate tasks, set timelines, and manage budgets to ensure smooth project execution.
4. Foster a collaborative, innovative, and efficient design environment.
5. Oversee the design and development of machinery and equipment, ensuring functionality, safety, and efficiency.
6. Work closely with clients to understand their specific requirements and ensure designs align with their expectations.
7. Ensure all design documentation, including drawings, technical specifications, and test data, is accurately maintained and updated.
8. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, production, and sales) to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements:
1. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar.
2. Proven track record as a Design Manager or Senior Design Engineer ready to step up.
3. Previous engineering design experience within a machinery manufacturing environment.
4. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
