Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to use both hand and power tools effectively. The MOT Tester will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety of our customers on the road.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with legal requirements and company standards.
2. Perform comprehensive inspections, including checking brakes, lights, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems.
3. Identify any faults or issues during the testing process and provide clear reports to vehicle owners.
4. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to carry out repairs or adjustments as necessary.
5. Maintain accurate records of all inspections and repairs performed.
6. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the workshop environment.
7. Must be able to diagnose faults mechanical and electrical.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
2. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose vehicle issues accurately.
3. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for repairs and maintenance tasks.
4. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
5. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
6. Relevant qualifications or certifications in vehicle maintenance or MOT testing are desirable.
