Making A Difference as A Senior Cleaner in School Traded Services
We have a vacancy for a Senior Cleaner at St Augustine's High School. The hours of work are 15 per week. These hours are normally worked 2.30pm - 6.00pm Mondays, 2.30pm - 5.30pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and 2.30pm - 5.00pm Fridays (variable to meet the needs of the service).
Our Senior Cleaners provide an essential service to schools and other council buildings throughout the borough, ensuring working areas are a safe environment for themselves, staff, pupils, and the public.
You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school, creating a positive environment for pupils to learn in, and for teachers to teach in.
Duties will consist of supervision of a small team to include arranging staff cover for any periods of absence, ordering of stock and management of time sheets & weekly monitoring reports. You will also arrange for any on-site training and any refresher training as and when required.
Cleaning duties comprise of brushing, mopping, hoovering, dusting, polishing and buffing. A skilled and knowledgeable management team will provide support to the successful candidate.
Areas that require cleaning include classrooms, offices, corridors, halls and toilets with periodic work undertaken during school holidays.

You must be comfortable and confident in being able to communicate with managers, colleagues, and members of the public as necessary in accordance with council policy.
Full training and understanding of Council policy will be administered to all those who start in this role.
