Job Brief
We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks, including driving / transporting equipment and materials using a company van, cleaning commercial areas, performing full cleans of vacant properties, managing waste removal, window cleaning, and undertaking various gardening duties. Flexibility and a proactive approach are crucial, as this job description is not exhaustive and you may be assigned additional tasks as needed. Please note that a DBS check is required for this role.
Responsibilities:
1. Driving:
· Operate a company van to transport gardening equipment, cleaning supplies, materials and waste to various locations.
· Ensure all equipment is loaded safely for transport to avoid any damage or accidents.
· Maintain the cleanliness and condition of the company van, complete and document weekly checks.
· Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
2. Commercial Area Cleaning:
· Conduct regular cleaning activities in commercial areas to maintain a clean and inviting atmosphere.
· Ensure that all communal spaces meet high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
3. Vacant Property Void Cleans:
· Perform thorough cleaning of vacant properties at the end of a tenancy to prepare for new tenants.
· Address cleaning requirements for floors, walls, fixtures and appliances.
4. Waste Removal:
· Responsible for the removal of items left in properties to waste facilities.
· Coordinate and manage waste disposal in an environmentally friendly manner.
5. Window Cleaning:
· Execute window cleaning, using the water fed pole cleaner.
6. Gardening Duties:
· Cut lawns, trim edges and maintain hardstands (e.g. pathways, patio areas and carparks) to uphold a well-kept landscape.
· Trim brushes and hedges, remove weeds and address overgrown areas.
· Remove old lawns and gardens, level off and returf as required.
7. Customer Service:
· Communicate when required with customers, addressing their needs and providing a positive experience.
· Represent the company professionally and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
8. Adaptability:
· Be flexible and open to handling various tasks as required, contributing to the overall success of the team.
Requirements:
1. Driving licence:
· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for over 2 years.
· Ability to drive a company van safely and responsibly.
2. Cleaning and Maintenance Experience:
· Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance or similar roles preferred but not essential as full training provided.
3. Detail-Oriented:
· Pay close attention to detail to ensure properties meet high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
4. Waste Management Knowledge:
· Familiarity with waste removal procedures and environmentally responsible disposal practices, preferred but not essential as full training provided.
5. Window Cleaning Skills:
· Competency in window cleaning techniques for various types of windows preferred but not essential as full training provided.
6. Garden proficiency:
· Experience in lawn care, hedge trimming and general gardening practices preferred but not essential as full training provided.
7. Physical Fitness:
· Capable of performing physically demanding tasks associated with cleaning, maintenance and gardening.
8. Team Player:
· Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and communicate efficiently.
